Ambassador Hong Liang meets U Kyaw Tin, Union Minister for International Cooperation

        On 16 May, H.E. Mr Hong Liang, Chinese Ambassador in Myanmar, paid a farewell call upon H.E. U Kyaw Tin, Union Union Minister for International Cooperation in Nay Pyi Taw.

       Ambassador Hong said that under the able leadership of the leaders of the two countries, China-Myanmar relations have entered a new era of jointly building the Belt and Road Initiative and China-Myanmar Economic Corridor. The Chinese side is willing to work with the Myanmar side, by carrying forward the traditional Pauk-Phaw friendship and upholding the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence, to promote Myanmar's internal peace, national reconciliation, economic development and the well-being of the people, so as to achieve greater development of China-Myanmar Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership.

       Union Minister U Kyaw Tin spoke highly of Ambassador Hong Liang's extensive work in promoting friendly exchanges and cooperation between China and Myanmar. He thanked the Chinese side for its strong support and assistance to Myanmar's peace process and Rakhine issue. He said that the Myanmar side attaches great importance to and is committed to continuously deepening the bilateral Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership. It is willing to jointly build the Belt and Road Initiative and China-Myanmar Economic Corridor with the Chinese side, thus bringing the bilateral relations to a new high.
