Ambassador Hong Liang meets H.E. U Thaung Tun, Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations

        On 16 May, H.E. Mr Hong Liang, Chinese Ambassador in Myanmar, paid a farewell call upon H.E. U Thaung Tun, Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations.

        Ambassador Hong said that China and Myanmar are jointly building the Belt and Road Initiative and China-Myanmar Economic Corridor. The trade and investment cooperation between the two countries are growing from strength to strength. The Chinese side is willing to maintain close contact with the Myanmar side so as to facilitate two-way trade and investment, and support the building of cooperation platforms for enterprises of the two countries, thus bringing more benefits to the two countries and two peoples.

        Union Minister U Thaung Tun spoke highly of Ambassador Hong's extensive work in promoting trade and investment cooperation between the two countries. He said that the Myanmar side is willing to work with the Chinese side to actively implement the important consensus reached by State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and Chinese leaders during the Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, promote the smooth implementation of bilateral cooperation projects in Myanmar and support the Belt and Road Initiative and China-Myanmar Economic Corridor to achieve fruitful results.
