On 9 May, H.E. Mr Hong Liang, Chinese Ambassador in Myanmar, paid a farewell call upon H.E. Vice Senior General Soe Win, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Tatmadaw.

Ambassador Hong said that China-Myanmar relations are growing from strength to strength. The relationship between the two militaries is an important part of China-Myanmar Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership. China is willing to further deepen exchanges and cooperation between the two militaries in various fields and push the relations between the two militaries forward on the existing basis. China will continue to carry out fruitful cooperation with Myanmar on the peace process in northern Myanmar and the Rakhine issue, and work together to promote peace, stability and national reconciliation in Myanmar.

Deputy Commander-in-Chief Vice Senior General Soe Win spoke highly of Ambassador Hong Liang’s extensive work in promoting the relations between the two countries and the two militaries. He thanked China for its valuable long-term support for the development of Myanmar and Tatmadaw and its constructive role in the peace process in northern Myanmar. He said that Tatmadaw will implement the important consensus reached by the Commander-in-Chief Myint Aung Hlaing and Chinese leaders during Commander-in-Chief’ s visit to China, and continue to deepen the friendly exchanges and cooperation between the two countries and the two militaries.
