On the night of September 29th, H.E. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Union of Myanmar Guan Mu, hosted a grand reception to mark the 57th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. Secretary-1 of the State Peace and Development Council of the Union of Myanmar Lt-General Thein Sein and wife Daw Khin Khin Win attended the Reception. Also present on the occasion were member of the State Peace and Development Council Lt-Gen Myint Swe of the Ministry of Defence, Minister for Industry-1 U Aung Thaung , Minister for Agriculture and Irrigation Maj-General Htay Oo, Minister for Industry-2 Maj-General Saw Lwin, Minister for Electric Power No(1) Col. Zaw Min, Commandant of the National Defence College Maj-General Moe Hein, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs U Maung Myint, senior military officers, the departmental heads, officials of social organizations, ambassadors and military attachés of foreign missions, resident representatives of UN agencies, Myanmar Chinese Representatives, heads of the Chinese companies and others.

Lt-General Thein Sein highly appraised the Sino-Myanmar relations and the tremendous achievements made in the course of China's reform and opening-up to the outside world. Thein Sein indicated that, he was very pleased to take the opportunity to attend the China National Day reception on behalf of the Myanmar leaders. He sincerely wished that, the Chinese people would continuously obtain the new achievements in the modernization drive, and the Sino-Myanmar friendship would last forever.
