Ambassador Li Jinjun takes behalf of the Chinese Government to donate US$200,000 for disaster relief to the Myanmar Government

On Jan. 5, 2005, on behalf of the Chinese Government, Ambassador Li Jinjun donated US$200,000 to the Myanmar Government as an aid for disaster relief to the affected areas in Myanmar of the tsunami and earthquakes in the India Ocean. Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Maj-Gen Sein Htwa accepted the donation on behalf of the Myanmar Government and introduced the situation of those affected areas in Myanmar. At present of the donation ceremony were political counselor Yu Boren, commercial counselor Tang Hai of the Embassy and Deputy Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Brig-Gen Kyaw Myint and Deputy Minister for Immigration and Population U Maung Aung of the Myanmar side.
Minister Maj-Gen Sein Htwa said that, facts have proved that China is the most friendly neighbor of Myanmar, who for long has rendered selfless help to Myanmar in all areas including political, economic and social fields. He then took behalf of the Myanmar Government and the Myanmar people to show the most sincere thanks to the Chinese Government and the Chinese people.
