Delegation of Shenzhen Youth Association visits Myanmar

From December 21st to 23rd, 2004, Ms. Liu Yan, Vice Chairperson of Shenzhen Youth Association and her 11 member delegation visited Myanmar.

In talks between the delegation and the Central Executive Committee members of the Union Solidarity and Development Assciation (USDA) including Ministers at the Prime Minister's Office U Than Shwe and Brig-Gen Pyi Sone, Minister for Livestock and Fisheries Brig-Gen Maung Maung Thein and Deputy Minister for Information U Thein Sein, the two sides introduced the structure and functions of respective organizations and exchanged views on strengthening cooperation and contacts on Youth Work. Counselor Yu Boren of the Chinese Embassy was also at present.

In year 2002, under the arrangement of All China Youth Federation, Shenzhen Youth Association sent 6 young Chinese volunteers to serve in Yangon University and Mandalay University as teachers on Chinese Language, Computer Skills Training and English Language. The volunteers overcame all difficulties of living and working conditions and successfully achieved their work with full devotion and diligence, which gained the appreciation from the Myanmar side. They also established deep friendship and close relations with local teachers and students, contributing a verse in the history of friendly exchanges and contacts of youth of China and Myanmar.
