Deputy Chief of General Staff of PLA visited Myanmar At the invitation of General Thura Shwe Mann, Chief of the General Staff and Member of the State Peace and Development Council of the Union of Myanmar, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the People's Liberation Army of the People's Republic of China General Ge Zhenfeng led a delegation to pay goodwill visit to Myanmar from 1-5 December,2004. During their stay, the delegation called upon Vice-Senior General Maung Aye, Vice-Chairman of the State Peace and Development Council Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army), and held talks with General Thura Shwe Man, which resulted in the signing of an memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the establishment of border defense talks mechanism and management of border affairs. The delegation also visited the Myanmar National Defence College and Military Technical Academy in Pin Oo Lwin. Chinese Vice Foreign Minister came for the 6th dipolomatic consultations At the invitation of U Kyaw Thu, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Union of Myanmar, Vice Foreign Minister of China Mr. Wu Dawei led a delegation to attend the 6th bilateral diplomatic consultations held in Yangon. The two sides exchanged opinions on Sino-Myanmar relations and other issues with common interest. During the stay, the delegation called upon Lt-Gen. Soe Win, Prime Minister of Myanmar and Lt-Gen. Thein Sein, Secretary 1 of the State Peace and Development Council as well as U Nyan Win, Foreign Minister of Myanmar.
Prime Minister Lt-Gen Soe Win of Myanmar attended the China-ASEAN Expo and China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit From 2 to 5 November 2004, Lt-Gen. Soe Win, Prime Minister of the Union of Myanmar led a delegation to attend the China-ASEAN Expo and China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China. Among the delegation were Myanmar Minister for National Planning and Economic Development U Soe Tha, Minister for Commerce Brig-Gen Tin Naing Thein, Minister for Foreign Affairs U Nyan Win, Minister for Transport Maj-Gen Thein Swe, etc. During the stay, the delegation met with Vice Premier of the State Council of P.R.China Madame Wu Yi to discuss bilateral economic cooperation, promotion of bilateral trade and anti-narcotics activities. Prime Minister Lt-Gen Soe Win met with Chinese Premier On 29 November 2004, during the period of ASEAN+3 Summit in Laos, Premier of the People's Republic of China Mr. Wen Jiabao met with Lt-Gen Soe Win, Prime Minister of the Union of Myanmar. Also present at the call were Chinese Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr Li Zhaoxing and Myanmar Minister for National Planning and Economic Development U Soe Tha. The two Prime Ministers cordially discussed enhancing of friendly relationship between the two countries and greater cooperation in economic and social affairs. Chinese Sports Delegation visited Myanmar From 21 to 28 November 2004, Party Secretary of Chinese General Administration of Sport and President of Asian Wushu Federation Mr Li Zhijian, together with Deputy Director General of Chinese General Administration of Sport and President of World Wushu Federation Mr. Yu Zaiqing led the Chinese sports team to attend the 6th Asian Wushu Championships 2004 held in Yangon. During the stay, the delegation called upon Lt-Gen. Thein Sein, Secretary 1 of the State Peace and Development Council as well as Brig-Gen Thura Aye Myint, Chairman of Myanmar Olympic Committee and Minister for Sports. On behalf of the General Administration of Sport, Mr. Li Zhijian also donated sports equipments to the Myanmar Ministry of Sports. The delegation also visited Thaunggyi of Shan State, Myanmar. China Overseas Exchange Association Delegation visited Myanmar From 29 November to 3 December 2004, Vice President Mr. Zhao Yang of China Overseas Exchange Association led a 6-member delegation to visit Myanmar to meet with Chinese communities in both Yangon and Mandalay. Yunnan Provincial Society for Promoting the Guangcai (Glory) Program Delegation visited Myanmar From 28 to 30 November 2004, Chairman of Yunnan Provincial Society for Promoting the Guangcai (Glory) Program Mr. Luo Zhengfu led a 13-member delegation visited Myanmar. The delegation held talks with officials of Myanmar Ministry of Home Affairs and met with U Zaw Min Win, Vice President of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce & Industry (UMFCCI). Myanmar Deputy Minister of Mines attended International Symposium in China From 14 to 21 November 2004, U Myint Thein, Deputy Minister for Mines of Myanmar led a delegation to attend the "International Symposium on Chinese Mining Industry 2004" in Beijing. The delegation also visited Jin Chuan nickel mine in Gansu Province, China.

Huang Qingyi, Deputy Director of the Women and Children Affairs Committee of the State Council of China, Vice President of All China Women Affairs (ACWF) and Secretary 1 of the Secretariat of ACWF led a 10-member delegation to attend the "Coordinated Mekong Ministerial Initiative against Trafficking (COMMIT)" Meeting held in Yangon. Myanmar Minister for Science and Technology attended High-Tech Fair in China At the invitation of Mr. Li Hongzhong, Mayor of Shenzhen, Myanmar Minister for Science and Technology U Thaung led a delegation to attend the 6th International High-Tech Productions Business Fair held in Shenzhen, China. Myanmar Deputy Minister for Industry-1 visited China At the invitation of China Metallurgical Construction Corporation, Brig-Gen. Kyaw Win, Deputy Minister for Industry-1 of Myanmar led a delegation to visit China on 19 October 2004. China Oil companies visited Myanmar At the invitation of Brig-Gen. Lun Thi, Minister for Energy of Myanmar, Mr. Fu Chengyu, President of China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) together with Mr. Wang Shihong, President of China HuanQiu Contracting & Engineering Corporation led a 13 member delegation to visit Myanmar from 20 to 24 October 2004.
USDA delegation attended ICAPP Conference in China From 3 to 5 September 2004, Maj-Gen. Htay Oo, Secretary General of the Union Solidarity and Development Association and Minister of Cooperatives of Myanmar attended the 3rd International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) in Beijing. During the stay, the delegation called upon State Councilor Zhou Yongkang, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Secretary of the Secretariat of CPC Central Committee. China Telecom Delegation visited Myanmar From 8 to 12 September 2004, Vice General Manager of TELECOM Mr. Li Ping led an 8 member delegation visited Myanmar. Myanmar women entrepreneurs delegation attend Global Conference in China From 16 to 19 September 2004, Daw Nu Nu Yi, Vice President of Myanmar Women Entrepreneurs Association led a 17-member-delegation to attend the 11th Global Conference of Women Entrepreneurs in Beijing.
Myanmar Vice Cultural Minister attended the Asian Culture Arts Festival in China From 18 to 25 August 2004, Brig-Gen Soe Win Maung, Deputy Minister for Culture of Myanmar led a delegation to attend the 6th Asian Culture Arts Festival held in Beijing.
Prime Minister Gen. Khin Nyunt visited China At the invitation of Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Mr. Wen Jiabao, General Khin Nyunt, Prime Minister of Myanmar paid an official visit to China From 11 to 18 July 2004. During the visit, the two countries signed 12 agreements, MOUs and exchange of notes, including "Agreement on Economic and Technical Cooperation between the Government of the Union of Myanmar and the Government of the People's Republic of China". Prime Minister Gen. Khin Nyunt donated one Buddha each on behalf of Senior General Than Shwe, Chairman of the State Peace and Development Council and of the Myanmar Government to the Chinese Buddhism Association. Chinese Deputy Information Minister visited Myanmar From 4 to 6 July 2004, Mr. Xi Guohua, Deputy Minister of Information Industry of P.R. China led a delegation to visit Myanmar. Guangdong delegation visited Myanmar From 7 to 11 July 2004, Mr Lu Zhonghe, Director of the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of Guangdong Province led a delegation to visit Myanmar. The delegation met with Brig-Gen. Aung Thein Lin, Mayor of Yangon and Chairman of Yangon City Development Committee. During the stay, the delegation also visited Bagan and Mandalay. Mayor of Yangon visited China From 23 to 27 May 2004, Mayor of Yangon and Chairman of Yangon City Development Committee (YCDC) Brig-Gen Aung Thein Lin led a delegation to attend the Asia Cooperation and Development Meeting held in Shanghai. During the stay, the delegation also paid a visit to Yangzhou. Myanmar Minister of Co-operatives of visited China From 24 to 30 May 2004, Minister for the Ministry of Co-operatives of Myanmar Maj-Gen. Htay Oo led a delegation to attend the 5th Western China International Economy & Trade Fair in Chengdu, Sichuan Province of China.
Chairman of CPPCC Yunnan Provincial Committee visited Myanmar From 19 to 23 April 2004, Mr. Wu Donghua, Chairman of Yunnan Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) led an 8-member-delegation as well as a 22-member-entrepreneurs-delegation to visit Myanmar. During the stay, the delegation held talks with officials in the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce & Industry (UMFCCI) and listened to the introduction from Brig-Gen. Soe Win, Deputy Director-General of Myanmar Police Force of Minister of Home Affairs on drug alternative plantations. Vice Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China paid Official Visit to Myanmar At the invitation of Secretary-1 of the State Peace and Development Council of the Union of Myanmar Lt-Gen Soe Win, Vice Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Madam Wu Yi led a 33 member Government delegation and a 46 entrepreneurs delegaion to an official visit to Myanmar from 23 to 27 March 2004. Vice Chairman of Overseas Chinese Association visited Myanmar From 3 to 7 March 2004, Vice Chairman of Overseas Chinese Association Mr. Gu Huaming led a delegation to visit Myanmar and study the education of Chinese language situation. The delegation paid visits to both Yangon and Mandalay. Vice Chairman of CPPCC Jiangsu Provincial Committee visited Myanmar From 14 to 17 March 2004, Mr. Wu Donghua, Vice Chairman of Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) led an economic and good-will delegation to visit Myanmar. During the stay, the delegation held talks with officials in the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce & Industry (UMFCCI) and Chambers of Local Chinese Communities, conducted a field visit to Hlaing Tha Ya Industry Zone, and visited the memorial monument of Chinese Armies reinforcing Myanmar during World War II in Toungoo, Bago Division of Myanmar.
Vice-Chairman Luo Haocai of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference visited Myanmar At the invitation of Secretary-2 of the State Peace and Development Council of the Union of Myanmar Lt-Gen Thein Sein, Mr. Luo Haocai, Vice-Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and Vice-President of the Chinese Association for International Understanding (CAIFU) of the People's Republic of China and party visited Myanmar from 21 to 25 February 2004. Myanmar USDA delegation visited China From 4 to 11 January 2004, Maj-Gen. Htay Oo Secretary General of the Union Solidarity and Development Association (USDA) and Minister of Cooperatives of Myanmar led a delegation to visit China. The delegation called upon Mr. Lu Yongxiang, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of China, Mrl Li Chengren, Vice President of the Chinese Association of International Understandings (CAFIU) as well as officials in the All China Youth Federation (ACYF) met with the delegation respectfully, and held talks with Mr. Cai Wu, Vice Minister of International Department of the Central Committee of Communist Party of China and Senior Counselor of CAFIU.
