Located in the west of  Indo-China Peninsula, conecting Southeast Asia and South Asia , the Union of Myanmar has a boderline of more than 2100 kilometers with China, linked by common mountains and rivers, and with the two peoples enjoying cordial co-existence and Pauk Phaw friendship of long standing and well established. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations of the two countries, the bilateral relationship has moved forward smoothly and the achievements of friendly exchanges and cooperation in all fields are fruitful. As is known to all, leaders of all governments of the two countries have attached great importance to develop Sino-Myanmar relations and thrown much of their energy on deepening the two countries' mutual trust and understandings. Especially after advancing into the new century, the two leaders have exchanged frequent visits,

 which further consolidates the base of friendly and cooperative relationship of good-neighborliness and deeps the cooperation in all fields. Both China and Myanmar belong to developing countries and share similar historical experiences.The same fate connects the people of the two countries closely, who have been extending understandings, sympathy and support to each other during the whole process of striving for independence and liberty of nations, safeguarding sovereignty and territory integrity as well as developing their respective countries. We believe, with the common efforts of the two governments and peoples, the traditional friendly relationship based on the Five Principles of Peaceful Co-existence shall move forward continuously and steadily in the new century and the cooperation in fields like politics,economy & trade, science & technology, culture etc. will further walk up to higher steps.
