We are shocked to learn the sad news that your country was hit by the most powerful earthquake and tidal waves, which caused the heavy loss of lives and properties in your country. On behalf of hundred millions of Chinese Buddhists, the Buddhist Association of China wishes to express our sincere sympathy and solicitude for your people and our heartfelt condolences over the victims of the disaster. As the main principle of Buddhism is to love kindness, to share happiness and sufferings with all living beings, the Buddhists of China are also affected by the disaster you suffered from and wish to stand together with you to overcome the hardships. The Buddhist Association of China is calling on all Buddhist circles of China to hold Buddhist Services to pray the disaster to disappear and never to happen again, your people to be out of the disaster and in good health, the victims to rest in peace and have rebirth in pure land. We believe that your country and people will certainly overcome the hardships and rebuild your homeland.
