    1984-1985, English Teacher, Foreign Languages Department, Fujian Normal University.

    1985-1986, Secretary and Interpreter of Fujian Journalists' Association.

    1986-1986, Staff Member of Taiwan Affairs Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China.

    1986-1988, Vice Consul of the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in San Francisco, USA.

    1988-1991, Vice Consul of the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Los Angeles, USA.

    1991-1995, Second Secretary, Deputy Division Director and Division Director of the Department of International Organizations  and Conferences, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China.
